#FREIHEITBERLIN

Vier von fünf Berlinerinnen und Berlinern assoziieren ihre Stadt mit Freiheit. Die Hauptstadtkampagne verlieh diesem ganz besonderen Berlin-Gefühl ab 2017 mit der Aktion #FreiheitBerlin viele Stimmen: Alle Menschen wurden eingeladen, ihre persönlichen Freiheitsbotschaften in Form von Bildern, Geschichten, Videos und Zitaten zu teilen. Die Impulse dieser Botschaften übersetzte beBerlin in Kampagnenmotive. Auch in Berlin ansässige Unternehmen und Institutionen beteiligten sich an der Initiative. Highlights der Kampagnenaktionen waren 2017 die Projektion eingesandter Freiheitsbotschaften auf das Brandenburger Tor im Rahmen des stadtweiten Lichterfests „Berlin leuchtet“ und die #FreiheitBerlin Kunstinstallation, die von Mai bis August 2018 auf dem Washingtonplatz am Hauptbahnhof zu sehen war.

#FREIHEITBERLIN

Four out of five Berliners associate their city with freedom. The capital campaign gave this very special Berlin feeling many voices starting in 2017 with the #FreiheitBerlin campaign: All people were invited to share their personal freedom messages in the form of pictures, stories, videos and quotes. The impulses of these messages were translated by beBerlin into campaign motifs. Berlin-based companies and institutions also participated in the initiative. Highlights of the campaign actions in 2017 were the projection of submitted freedom messages on the Brandenburg Gate as part of the citywide festival of lights "Berlin leuchtet" and the #FreiheitBerlin art installation, which was on display from May to August 2018 on Washingtonplatz at the main train station.

#FREIHEITBERLIN FOR EUROPE

In 2019, the idea of freedom of the #FreiheitBerlin campaign was extended to Europe. Prominent Berliners took a stand as part of #FreiheitBerlin for Europe - for a free, tolerant and cosmopolitan Europe. Their statements could be seen on posters all over the city in May. And there was further support: the world-famous Mona Lisa was a guest in Berlin. Directly at the East Side Gallery, the Mona Lisa looked down on Berlin from the facade of a building as an oversized wall painting - until she
suddenly disappeared and went on a European tour. On Instagram, she reported on her tour, the different stops and her European experiences. At the beginning of May, Mona Lisa returned to Berlin to draw attention to the European elections on May 26, 2019. The street art and social media campaign "#FreiheitBerlin for Europe" culminated in the exhibition "Mona Lisa - a Smile for Europe" at Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall), which featured Mona Lisa interpretations by renowned artists.

#FREIHEITBERLIN FOR EUROPE

2019 war der Freiheitsgedanke der Kampagne #FreiheitBerlin auf Europa ausgedehnt. Prominente Berlinerinnen und Berliner bezogen im Rahmen von #FreiheitBerlin for Europe Position – für ein freies, tolerantes und weltoffenes Europa. Ihre Statements waren im Mai auf Plakaten in der ganzen Stadt zu sehen. Und es gab weitere Unterstützung: Die weltberühmte Mona Lisa war zu Gast in Berlin. Direkt an der East Side Gallery blickte die Mona Lisa als übergroßes Wandbild von einer Hausfassade auf Berlin – bis sie plötzlich verschwandt und sich auf Europareise begab. Auf Instagram berichtete sie von ihrer Tour, den unterschiedlichen Stationen und ihren europäischen Erlebnissen. Anfang Mai kehrt Mona Lisa nach Berlin zurück, um auf die Europawahl am 26. Mai 2019 aufmerksam zu machen. Die StreetArt- und Social- Media-Kampagne „#FreiheitBerlin for Europe“ mündete in der Ausstellung „Mona Lisa – ein Lächeln für Europa“ im Roten Rathaus, die Mona Lisa-Interpretationen namhafter Künstlerinnen und Künstler zeigte.
